“Aside from being a very talented, high level climber, Bronwyn was also a very good teacher. She made the climbing and learning an awesome experience! She's very encouraging, enthusiastic and fun to be around. We tackled a longer multi-pitch climb, and felt very safe as she knew her stuff inside out.”

Intermediate Trad (1 day)

  • No 2025 course dates.

Can book as individual or group private instruction (see rates and availability above).

  • See Private Instruction rates above.

  • Are you a competent trad leader who can recognize and place safe trad gear? Are you are ready to level up your trad game, by challenging yourself to set harder goals and improve your physical and mental performance?

The course will be run in a mentorship-style learning environment. At the start of the day participants will share their goals and where they are at in their personal climbing progression.

We will review safe trad practices, including gear placements and trad anchors. We will move on to tricky placements and advanced movement techniques, providing time for participants to practice these skills.

In the afternoon we will discuss the mental challenges that come with leading trad, including fear of falling and risk management. We will also address goal setting and redpoint strategies, introducing memory aids like beta maps and visualization.

We will choose single-pitch routes appropriate to the ability of the participants. Questions are always encouraged. Let's become stronger and wiser trad climbers together!

  • Recommended for trad leaders in the 5.8-5.10a range.

  • What you would bring on a trad climbing day at the crag.

Gear List will be sent out to participants at least one week prior to the course.

Specialty pieces (ie. offset cams) will be provided. Ropes will be provided.

Bronwyn has climbed up to 13d/14a desert splitters. Pictured above is Bronwyn on the first ascent of Dr. Bronners, a 5.13 roof crack here in Squamish!

Her favourite techniques are thin hands, ring-locks, fist jams, and she even (in a weird pain tolerance sort of way….) enjoys the full spectrum of off-width sizes!

Goal Setting and Performance (1 day)

  • This course is currently in the making and will be available in 2026. Stay tuned!

  • n/a

  • About two years ago, I set adventure to the side and took a deep dive into performance sport climbing.

I was curious: how much could I improve if I trained consistently and set my sights on an ambitious performance target?

Battling huge inner doubts, I managed to clip the chains on La Rubia 5.14c becoming the third ever Canadian woman to climb the grade.

I learned SO MUCH about goal setting, performance mindset and tactics, and I can’t wait to share!
